If it's the one in your avatar pic it's a YJ.

Autozone has them cheap. It is mounted on the side of the engine next to the distributor. A 13mm wrench and a flat blade screwdriver, and one beer is all you'll need. Simple replacement job. They do wear out. This is all assuming you have the six cylinder. If you have the four cylinder it's a three beer job.

Your fuel pump is in the gas tank. Check the in line fuel filter to see if it's getting gas through it.

My bet is you will end up dropping the tank so start draining the fuel to make the job a little easier on your back.

Toyota has the FJ Cruiser, that is not a Jeep (because it's a... Toyota.. ;) ). Jeep has several classifications of models:

-Wrangler-

1987-1995: YJ

1997-2006: TJ although there were some longer versions of the model that were made, commonly referred to as LJ's.

2007-Present: JK

Of course there are a few classifications of Cherokees as well, mostly referred to a XJ, and the Grand Cherokee as ZJ. Then the other "Jeeps" have models as well, not sure about those.
