Good morning fellow Jeepsters!,

I have a stock "92" Wrangler S with a 2" lift, powered by a 2.5L 5 speed. My question is where to start to modify performance areas with the least expensive means. Any and all suggestions welcome as I've only owned it for a year.
It's come a loooooong way since I rescued it from it's previous owner.

Thank you

There simply aren't a lot of performance gains to be made with a 2.5L motor.
you're better off selling the YJ and buying a rig with a bigger motor.

Thank you everyone. I figured not much on a 2.5L to upgrade. Given its stock, maybe the gearing as one indicated. What draw back would there be in a gear change? I'm new to the off roading scene and don't have the cash to be replacing busted axles, steering parts so my off roading wouldn't be rock crawling or aggressive.
I'm pretty comfortable mechanically and have many tools. The tranny has a worn syncronizer between 2 & 3. I've been driving it for a year and just pause before shifting. How difficult is it to rebuild an AX5?
Is there any help diagrams or videos in doing this?
Thank you everyone
