Yup:

4 reds and one yellow with one 47ohm resistor per set, one per side. Hooked to the door switches, turns on when I open the doors. Going to wire up a push button switch so I can turn them on at will.

Still trying to figure out what to do with the others. Likely going to replace them with THESE to make a cleaner install.

Looks good.

I'm looking at using component leds for a project, but i'm not sure how to calculate how much of a resistor i need. The site says they are 2.2V, but they'll be in a system that will see 11-14.4V....

The voltages aren't nearly AS important as using the proper resistor. I've seen LED's being ran on 15 volts that are only rated to 2.2 volts because they are using the correct resistor.

The LED's i'm using are 2.2v and are 40ohms a piece. Here's a handy dandy resistor calculator:

http://ledz.com/?p=zz.led.resistor.calculator

So if you want to use OME LED that will run around 14 volts you are going to need a 295ohm resistor. OR you can use 5 40ohm LED's in series and a 47ohm resistor to run on a 14 volt system.

It's a lot easier just to buy an LED unit that has the LED's already wired for a specific voltage and already have resistors built in. Looks a lot cleaner too ;)

Weird....didnt post my reply...

I'm using the leds as indicators that a switch is on for a custom switch panel. According to your calculator and using the info from the leds i planned to use, i need a 680 ohm resistor.

For the switch. Think of it as a lighted switch, but the light will be mounted separately.

Radio Shack has led indicators premade, but the want $3 something a piece......
