Dumb Jeep newb and I was just reading through Chris's build thread. I had no idea that so many parts from other Wranglers and Dodge stuff will interchange. Like a TJ grill on a YJ.

The only thing I was sure about was Ford wheels.

What else will just bolt on/swap from other generations and manufacturers?

A lot of the parts on Jeeps are GM parts.
The steering column on a YJ is from an S10.
The wiring harness on a station wagon Jeep is Chevy.
The starters on the 4.0 are GM.
The wheels on the YJ and TJ are 5 on 4.5 which has been the same bolt pattern on many cars and on trailer axles for years.

Didn't some GM trucks use the AMC 2.5L engine as well?

Any part is interchangeable. Just depends on how good your welding/cutting skills are.

yes sir they did. they used it in the eagles, XJs, Dakotas.
