Brake fire. Brake fluid squirting from a caliper hose onto a hot caliper. Three fire extinguishers later I disconnected my Jeep just in time for that top pic.
They go up quick. Plywood, and fiberglass.
Just waiting on the check to arrive by mail (hopefully this week) and we have already picked out a new one.
Ford makes a good truck (if you don't mind being uncomfortable and listening to rattles all the time). They are getting better at building cars finally.
That Duramax/Allison rig is the bomb. My son had one of those and I was really jealous. It's a perfect combo, and they even put it in a Chevy!
My new tow rig....
'96 Fleetwood Flair 28' basement model (basement storage), 427 ci Chevy power plant,
56K miles, 307 hours on the generator, new tires and brakes, two fire extinguishers (lol) rear queen walk around bed, sleeps seven, automatic leveling jacks, etc... etc... I pick it up Thursday.
I've had three motorhomes with Furd Turd trashplants in them. Every one of them had bad overheating problems.
I've been surfing craigslist for over a month, and almost every motorhome with a Furd motor has "new 4 core radiator" listed in it. Especially the ones with the Triton V10.
You love on your Fords, I'll love on my Chevys.
Some people have good luck with Fords. My dad was a Ford lover but he was forever working on them. He especially loved cars with the inline six, Mustangs, Mavericks etc... But then he owned an Edsel and a Packard and a few International Harvestors and Studebakers too. His first car was a Ford. A Model T that he paid $20 for.
I have great luck with Chevys, really poor luck with every Ford I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few.
Great. Now I'm getting it from everybody.
My kids are getting me fire extinguishers for Christmas, they keep asking me "is it flammable" all the time, they point out fire trucks on the road.... They are relentless. And now I get if from you guys too?
