Alright first and foremost, I'm new to the forum. I drive a 2.5L 95 YJ. My current query is as follows; I found a 4:1 transfer case for sale out of a 03 Rubicon TJ (NP241J). I would really like that gear reduction, but I know the AX-5 takes a 21 spline input shaft transfer case and the AX-15 (which I assume is what the 241 came from) takes a 23 spline input shaft transfer case. There may also be a difference in length of the input shafts. I'm considering just buying the 241 and seeing if I can Frankenstein it and make it work on my AX-5. Before I spend $1600, has anyone been in this boat before/swapped out input shafts from these transfer cases? Yes I've watched the bleepin jeep video lol. No that is not my only mechanical experience.
