Since the off road crash last year which killed numerous persons, the California Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has cracked down on us desert lovers so much that it has taken the fun out of being there. Is their plan going to backfire on everyone?

We have an annual slow speed Thanksgiving weekend trail run with 350 of our closest neighbors every year. Prizes are handed out for the closest set time and from the poker hands provided at the stops. This year, the BLM will be at the entrance of the race collecting $5.00 per person to step foot into their &@%* dirt. This year, for the first time in 12 years, I will boycott this event. It's not the money, it's the principle.

I would make it a point to show up with several people and when they ask for money say no and makes sure you get pictures and submit them to every news agency you can.

Is this for one of those adventure passes? I have gotten about 8 tickets for them because I refuse to pay more money for what I already pay for. First off they are voluntary tickets which means if you don't pay thats it they just wasted time. Second if you are on that land for any type of educational purpose they can not enforce it and third if you have a hunting license they can not force you to pay for one since that fee is included in that. Next time ask the ranger the law of the pass and I guarantee he will not have read it or know any more then he has been told.
