Firearms and Reloading

I thought I might see if we had firearm and or ammo reloaders around here. As for my self I have many guns and I do reload ammo. My whole family loves to hunt and shoot.

RikRotorhead 08-12-2012 11:23 PM

Have several guns but I gave all my reloading stuff to my brother in law. I get free ammo from him. Win win.

OklaTJ 08-12-2012 11:28 PM

lol that's one way to do it. I have talked to the local hunting club and when I get home next time I plain to join so it might open a few doors to find out more info in my area

08Rescue 08-13-2012 03:11 AM

Lol, I'm all in on both. I'm cheap, I go to my fathers and use his reloading equipment ;p

aw12345 08-13-2012 03:48 AM

Used to do a lot of reloading and bullet casting, fun stuff

It's not cheap to get started, I think it was around a 1000 dollars to get me started in reloading.

Can I ask why decided to stop reloading ?

Chris 08-13-2012 03:53 PM

I have a decent collection of guns, mainly hunting type stuff. I don't reload but would like to someday when I get through a few of these other projects I keep working on. I have done a little with re-blueing and putting together a few junk guns.

OklaTJ 08-13-2012 07:08 PM

That's cool. I will tell you this reloading get's in your blood as bad as shooting it self. All my gun stuff is hunting stuff I don't own a hand gun, but have thought of getting one just to ping targets. I reload for my wife's .270 and my 7mm mag right now I plain to branch out more, but for right now that's all I reload.

Chris 08-13-2012 07:10 PM

Love it.

Jeepin takes most of my time, didn't help that back in time they closed pretty much all the open shooting areas around here. I don't care much for regulated shooting ranges

OklaTJ 08-13-2012 07:31 PM

Got ya we have a small gun range that is on Indian land in okla so it's open to everyone. And I have a 200yd range at my house I have made.

I'm an equal opportunity gun owner!

Chris 08-14-2012 12:14 AM

I think you need another pistol.

I build a 100 yarded at the family farm. Trying to convince my father it's a good idea to jump on the crawler and make it 300. He has yet to comply..

Chris 08-14-2012 05:40 AM

Havasu is that a Handi Rifle you have there? Or something similar.

havasu 08-14-2012 05:54 AM

Which one? I've never owned a Handy Rifle, so I would suppose not. BTW, the semi auto .45 cal at the bottom (Sig Sauer P-220) was borrowed by my son and now uses it as his duty weapon with the LA County Sheriff's Department. He better not scratch it or I will hurt him!

Chris 08-14-2012 06:11 AM

That break barrel looked like one, kinda.

I almost bought a Sig a while back. Nice gun.

A glock will probably be next on my list. I have enough rifles now.

In other news I just picked up another safe. Now I can lock up my ammo to. This is CA after all, we need to make sure that if someone breaks in I have to get to safes open before I can defend myself.

The side by side 12 gauge is a J Stevens Arms Co., which is about 60 years old. It is the classic "scatter gun" and a hoot to shoot!

havasu 08-14-2012 06:47 AM

Speaking of safes, I saw three different size Winchester Safes today at Costco. One held 51 rifles, and was about $800. Seemed like a great deal.

I have the Winchester 20 gun and I really like it, seem built well but their is now way you could fit 20 rifles in it. I need the 51.

Feeder? Is that what people are allowed to hunt with outside CA?

Mine has 250 pounds of deer feed the one I have well drop 4 times a day from 1 to 20 seconds and then I have food plots that I planted

Chris 08-14-2012 03:51 PM

In CA that is called poaching. We are not allowed to plant, bait, feed anything.

No offense but that is 1 more thing that I will add to my list of why I'm happy I do not live in california

seadog 08-14-2012 05:30 PM

You need this sign for your property.

Chris 08-14-2012 07:03 PM

That would be sweet.

Yeah, that'll hold up in court.
"Why didn't you post it in Spanish? Everybody knows deer only speak and read Spanish. Three years state prison, $100,000 fine. Case closed. Bang".

OklaTJ 08-14-2012 07:47 PM

In oklahoma they actually sell deer feeders at walmart

Chris 08-14-2012 08:17 PM

I would love to hunt somewhere else other then here. You actually have to hunt here.

OklaTJ 08-15-2012 01:11 AM

Chris 08-15-2012 01:38 AM

But I can consume beer in it. and cook what I hunt. I wish I had a back yard that did not have another house in it 50 feet away.

OklaTJ 08-15-2012 01:47 AM

You can not see any houses for my land

Chris 08-15-2012 02:45 AM

Do you have a house?
